The on-going development of additive manufacturing technologies using sand extrusion systems and end-effectors for the Kuka KR-150 robotic arm. This is part of the research being conducted within the "Design and Manufacturing" course at the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation. This ongoing research focuses on conducting material studies to identify bio-materials capable of providing structural integrity to sand during 3D printing. By developing user-friendly interfaces, sophisticated algorithms for tool-path generation, and cutting-edge tools, the project aims to find new ways to utilise local materials and pave the way for the future of sustainable and efficient manufacturing and large scale robotic construction.
